Communication is key in all classrooms and technology allows for new ways of communicating. Chat and Microblogging allow users to have a written conversation synchronously or asynchronously. Both are excellent tools to facilitate discussion and communication among students both in and out of the classroom.

This is a social learning network designed specifically for schools. It is free and secure way to communicate digitally and share digital content. Online users need to have a code provided by the teacher to access the class, so posts are not open to the public. Teachers and students can post questions and the class can comment. In addition, service gives teachers the ability to post and receive assignments online. It also allows teachers to privately comment on and hand back student work. Be sure to read and follow the Terms of Service prior to using in class. TodaysMeet: A backchannel chat site that is used to connect with one's audience in real time.
