Keyboard Language
Keyboards are designed with language in mind. The English keyboard (US-International) is setup so that the most frequently used letters and symbols are easily accessible. Keyboards designed for other languages look different from this keyboard.
For example, the Spanish keyboard has both an "N" key and an "Ñ" key as well as a key for "¿" and "¡" (See image below)

Changing Your Keyboard Language
You can add other keyboard languages to your computer. By doing so, you will not have to use shortcut keys for different accents and letters unique to the language you are typing in. Although the physical keyboard will look the same, your keystrokes will register as if you were typing on a Spanish, French, German, etc. keyboard. It is a good idea to find an image of the keyboard you wish to use, print it out and keep it accessible for you to reference as you type until you get the hang of it.
To change the language of your keyboard:
Go to Start > Control Panel > Region and Language > Keyboards and Languages > Change Keyboards > Add > Scroll down and select a language click the dropdown menu and select a language > Keyboard > Check the box next to the language > OK > Apply > OK
Once you complete the steps above, you can switch back and forth between keyboards when you need to. You will see an "EN" in the lower right hand corner of your screen - this means you are currently using the English keyboard (see screenshot). To change languages, simply click on the "EN" and make your selection.
