Digital Rubrics
Rubrics help to set objectives as well as provide a guide for feedback. They help students establish a direction for learning and provide them with information on how well they are performing relative to a particular learning objective. Digital rubrics help to save planning time (online rubric generators), facilitate communication of goals to students and parents and assist in timely feedback. Two services available on the web to help with rubric generation are Rubistar and Intel Assessing Projects.
Rubistar: Quick and straightforward - create a rubric on the web and export it to Excel. See video to the left for instructions. Intel Assessing Projects: Browse, find and edit rubrics and scoring guides from Intel Education. Export to your computer or store them online by signing up for a free Intel Education account. Once on the site, click Try it for a demo. |

Excel: Online rubric generators often give you the option to export your rubric from the web to another software (often Word or Excel). Excel is recommended because you can add automatic tabulation. See video tutorial for instructions. |
